Distraction

I had an exceptionally awful day.  That had some really awesome moments.  My brain is racing, but I’m exhausted emotionally.  I can’t quite bring myself to step away from the computer due to a task I took on, but one can only refresh a screen so many times without going insane.  So, I visited a couple blogs that I’ve been behind on lately and found this on D’s page.  Figured it might be good for a few minutes down time.

If you’re on my friends list, I want to know 36 things about you. I don’t care if we never talk, or if we already know everything about each other. Short and sweet is fine… you’re on my list, so I want to know you better!

Post on your journal!

My response to D:

01) Are you currently in a serious relationship?  Yes.  Many.  None are romantic, thankfully.
02) What was your dream growing up?  To be an author.
03) What talent do you wish you had?  Mind-reading?
04) If I bought you a drink what would it be?  Tonight, I need rum.  Lots of rum.
05) Favorite vegetable?  Potato.
06) What was the last book you read?  The Amber Spyglass.
07) What zodiac sign are you?  Aquarius.  All the way.
08) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.  Both ear lobes, both tragus (traguses?  tragusi?), left helix.  6 tattoos, 2 being removed.
09) Worst Habit?  My amazing ability to hermit.
10) If you saw me walking down the street would you offer me a ride?  Since it is unlikely that I’d have the Weenie Wagon, I could always give you a tow.  ::grin::
11) What is your favorite sport?  Birth.
12) Do you have a Pessimistic or Optimistic attitude?  Ask me on a day that someone I care about didn’t die.
13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?  Um, be stuck on an elevator with you.  Duh.
14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?  What an awful question.
15) Tell me one weird fact about you.  I hoard toilet paper because I always worry about running out.
16) Do you have any pets?  Too many.  Anyone want a hairless kitten????
17) What if I showed up at your house unexpectedly?  I put you to work!
18) What was your first impression of me?  You rock.
19) Do you think clowns are cute or scary?  I’m indifferent.  Only ones I’ve ever liked were the ones in Slava’s Snow Show.
20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?  Twin skin.
21) Would you be my crime partner or my conscience?  Since you’d only ever Robin Hood, then partner.
22) What color eyes do you have?  Blue.
23) Ever been arrested?  Nope.
24) Bottle or can soda?  Can.  Tastes better that way.
25) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it?  Oy, student loans.
27) What’s your favorite place to hang out at?  Home.
28) Do you believe in ghosts?  I don’t disbelieve in them.
29) Favorite thing to do in your spare time?  Craft.
30) Do you swear a lot?  Only fucking occasionally.
31) Biggest pet peeve?  No toilet paper.
32) In one word, how would you describe yourself?  Awesome.
33) Do you believe/appreciate romance?  Theoretically.
34) Favourite and least favourite food?  Potatoes, seafood.
35) Do you believe in God?  I believe in a higher power – call it whatever you like.

Really?

I can’t believe it has been nearly 2 months since I’ve updated!

I’ve been a busy girl, what can I say?

New full-time job, which I mostly enjoy (how many people stright outta college have a boss that earnestly asks, “What is your passion?  What do you want to do?  Tell me because I want to support you!”????)

A couple trips West.  LA and Vegas.  Going back to LA in a couple weeks, San Francisco in November, and I’m hoping to make it out to NOLA for a long weekend and maybe NYC.

Kid started school, then changed schools.  We’re much happier now.

I finished a really cool class and have since started a couple more that aren’t so cool, but, if I take them as opposed to testing out then I can put off paying interest on my student loans a while longer.

Debating working on a Master’s.

I want to move.  Bad.  I’ve got a serious itch to get.out.of.here.  But, I’m here for at least a year.

We also have babies!

How many do you want?

Not much to report in crafy news.  I’ve been a little too busy for that.  But I’ve done a bit of work on some long-term projects.

I did find this in some O-Wool Balance I was working with… How cool is that!?!

Oh, and don’t hate me, but…

Oh!  I did make a hat for my acupuncturist’s baby girl.  Also O-Wool Balance.  Lot that yarn.

I also got a very cool gift from someone very special to me.

If you didn’t hate me enough for the Wollmeise, hopefully you can keep your head due to the lovely Sundara Silk I got my hands on…  Just gorgeous.

Well, that’s about it.  I haven’t done justice to anything at all, but, well, I wanted to catch up so I can do better from here on out.

And remember:  What happens in Vegas eventually airs on NBC!  Tune in to NBC on 12/28 to see what I was up to!

Peace Soup

I’ve been blogging for several years.  About my life, about…  Everything.  I recently took down my personal blog due to the pernicious behaviour of someone who got his/her hands on my password.  Not worth it.  But I still felt the need to chronicle the less personal aspects of my life.  You know, for posterity.

So, a little about me.

My name is Lynlee.  I’m a single mama of an almost 7 year old, quite precocious, darling daughter.  I just graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts and landed myself job that I am hoping is going to be a pretty interesting and successful endeavor.  I’ve been a gestational surrogate 3 times.  I’ve delivered 4 children and created 3 new families (all lead by gay daddies whom I adore).  I’m always happy to talk about surrogacy so if you’re interested, please leave a comment and I’ll email you.  In my spare time, I crochet, knit, read, and sometimes watch a little tube (um, posting in the 30 minutes before the next episode of Battlestar Galactica.  Wee!).  I just signed up for Netflix and have 85 disks queued.  I’m way behind on my movies ever since I learned to loop thee yarns, but I have a lot of simple projects coming up so I figure I can catch up on some movies.

Things I love:  Laughing.  Hummus.  Fair trade.  Stuart Townsend (totally underrated – have you seen his abs?).  Browncoats.  Ben and Jerry.  Cotton yarn.  Norway.  Growing new humans.  RENT.  Documentaries.  Irish music.  Traveling.  Smart, open-minded individuals.  Tori Amos.  Parallel parking.  Learning.  A couple drinks with good people.  Acceptance.

Welcome to my new blog.  I hope you will all pour a cup of coffee, grab a seat, pull out your hooks and needles, and stay for a while.
